Terms of Service

legal.draft is set to false in js/data/config.js.
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use the marketplace ("we", "us"). By using the site, placing an order or applying to sell, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. What we do
We run a platform where independent vendors list products and services for students. Vendors, not us, make and sell what they list. We record your order, collect your payment, help coordinate delivery or pickup, and pay vendors for completed orders.
3. Accounts and ordering
You can order as a guest or with an account. Give accurate details, because we and the vendor use them to deliver your order. Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account in My account once none of your orders is still running; see the Privacy Policy for what is deleted and what is kept.
4. Prices, delivery and pickup
Prices are set by vendors and shown in naira. Runnit adds no delivery fee. If you choose delivery, you and the vendor agree any delivery cost and time between yourselves in Messages; pickup is free. The total you see at checkout is what you pay Runnit for your items.
5. Paying
- You make one payment for everything in your checkout. Usually you pay Runnit, even if your checkout includes items from several vendors. Don't pay a vendor directly for an order placed here, unless checkout offers you that option and you choose it (see "Paying a verified store directly" below).
- Bank transfer: you pay by transferring the total shown to the Runnit account displayed after you place your order. There is no extra fee. Then send a photo of your receipt to Runnit Admin in Messages so we can find your payment, and keep the receipt until your order is complete. Only pay into the account shown on your order page, and be careful of anyone who asks you to pay somewhere else.
- Paying a verified store directly: for some verified stores, checkout may let you pay the store's own bank account instead of Runnit. If you choose this, your money goes straight to the store, not to Runnit, and you send your receipt to the store in Messages. Because Runnit never holds that money, Runnit can't refund it or hold it back from the store; any refund for that order is between you and the store. You can still report a problem with the order, and we will help where we can, for example by contacting the store or removing it from Runnit. If you'd rather Runnit hold your payment until you have your order, choose Pay Runnit.
- Your order is confirmed once your payment has been checked: by our team, or by the store if you paid the store directly. Payments are checked by hand, so confirmation may not be instant.
- A vendor starts preparing your order only after your payment is confirmed.
- Pay within 24 hours of placing your order. If no payment or receipt arrives by then, the order is cancelled automatically. If you paid and it was cancelled anyway, send your receipt (to us, or to the store if you paid it directly) and the order is restored once the payment is found.
6. Cancellations, refunds and problems
- If something is wrong with your order (missing, not as described, or not delivered), tap "Report a problem" on the order in My Account, or contact us at , as soon as you can, with your order number.
- When you have your order, tap "I received my order". This completes that part of the order, and if you paid Runnit, the vendor is then paid for it. Only tap it once you have everything.
- If a vendor has marked your order ready and you haven't tapped "I received my order" or reported a problem within 3 days, we treat it as received and complete it. Report a problem before then if something is wrong.
- If we cancel an order or part of an order that you paid Runnit for, or agree a refund on it, we return the money to you by bank transfer. We may ask you for the account to send it to. Refunds can take time to appear. For an order you paid a store directly, the store returns the money, not Runnit.
- We decide disputes between customers and vendors fairly and may rely on the information both sides give us.
7. Messages
The in-site messages are for talking about an order or a listing. Don't use them to harass anyone, to share contact details so that a sale happens outside the platform, or to send anything unlawful. We may review flagged messages and may limit or close accounts that break these rules.
You can send photos in messages. The same rules apply to photos as to text: no contact details, nothing harmful or unlawful. Phone numbers typed in a message are hidden automatically, but numbers inside a photo can't be, so don't send them.
You can delete a message or photo you sent, for everyone, within 48 hours of sending it. Payment receipts can't be deleted. Deleting a message doesn't stop us from looking into a report or dispute about it.
You can block a chat: then nobody can send messages in it until the person who blocked it unblocks it. You can report a message, a chat, a listing or a store to us. We look at every report and may hide listings or stores, or limit or close accounts. We don't tell anyone who reported them. Please only report real problems.
If you can't find something, you can request it. Your request (what you need, your budget and your note) is shown to every store at your campus in "Student requests", with your first name and the first letter of your last name. Stores answer there, and all of them can see each other's answers. You can post up to 3 requests a day; a request closes after 7 days or when you close it. Stores: only answer if you can really supply it, and only attach your own live products. We may hide requests or answers that break these rules.
8. Reviews
After you receive an order you can rate it from 1 to 5 stars and add a short comment. Only people who bought through Runnit can review, and only once per order (you can change it later). Ratings on the site come only from these reviews. Your review is public, with your first name and the first letter of your last name. Be honest and fair: no insults, personal details or fake reviews. We may hide reviews that break these rules.
9. Ask Runnit AI
Ask Runnit AI is a shopping helper. It understands what you ask, searches the products on the site, can compare products and suggest one, and can point to what a product's own listing says. It can misunderstand you, and the results are only as accurate as vendors' listings, so always check the product, price and vendor details before you order. It is not professional advice.
10. Rules for everyone
Don't list, buy or sell anything illegal, counterfeit, dangerous or harmful (including drugs, weapons and stolen goods). Don't misuse the site, try to break its security, post fake listings or fake reviews, or use it to deceive anyone.
11. For vendors
- Applications are reviewed by us and are not automatically approved. We may refuse or remove a vendor at our discretion.
- Keep your listings, prices and availability accurate. Prepare and deliver orders once they are paid, and mark them ready when they are.
- Your store's Wallet shows what you have earned. A new order shows as incoming until we confirm the customer's payment; it then joins your balance, and becomes ready to withdraw once the order is delivered (completed). When you tap Withdraw, we pay you by bank transfer to the account saved in your Wallet (first taken from your application), less any commission that applies (none during launch), and your balance goes down by that amount. Money for an order that is cancelled or refunded is taken out of your Wallet, and if it was already paid to you, it is taken off your next withdrawal. We may hold money for an order while a problem with it is being sorted out. We tell vendors in advance before pricing or commission changes.
- If an order is refunded after you have been paid for it, the amount may be deducted from what we owe you.
- If your store is verified and has a bank account saved in its Wallet, customers may be able to choose to pay you directly at checkout. For those orders: check your bank, then tap "Payment received" (or "Not received") on the order in Orders, and only prepare it once the money has arrived. Direct payments don't go into your Wallet and can't be withdrawn through Runnit. If such an order is cancelled or a refund is agreed, you return the money to the customer yourself, promptly. We may turn off direct payment for a store, or remove its verified status, at any time.
- Don't take customers or payments off the platform for orders placed here. Paying through the direct-payment option at checkout is fine; asking a customer to pay you any other way is not.
- Your store's rating comes only from your customers' reviews. Nobody can change it by hand, including us. If you think a review breaks the rules, tell us and we will look at it.
12. Our responsibility
We work to keep the site available and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Vendors are responsible for the products and services they sell. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses caused by a vendor, by a payment or delivery provider, or by events outside our control, and our total liability to you for any one order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Nigerian consumer law that cannot be limited.
13. Changes and ending
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top; for important changes we will tell you on the site. You can stop using the site at any time. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
